What Cap Fits a Prisma Carton?

The short version

A Prisma carton takes a threaded screw cap that is matched to its spout, and the format name alone does not tell you which cap that is. What decides the fit is four measurements on the neck: outer diameter, inner diameter, thread profile and cap height. Our carton caps are made in 23 mm and 27 mm opening families, with other sizes developed from your spout drawing or a carton sample, in food-grade PP or PE. Send us the drawing or a sample pack with your volume, and we confirm the fit before any mass production.

What Makes a Cap Fit a Prisma Carton?

Two cartons that are both called Prisma can still come with slightly different spouts, and two caps that both look like a 27 mm screw cap can still behave differently on the line. That is why a good supplier asks for a drawing or a sample before quoting a fit. These are the four measurements that decide it.

Outer diameter

How the cap skirt sits around the outside of the spout.

Inner diameter

How any inner liner or plug enters the spout opening.

Thread profile

Whether the cap screws on smoothly and closes again after the first opening.

Cap height

How the cap sits on top of the pack and runs through the capping line.

All four have to be confirmed before mass production. It is a much cheaper check at sampling stage than after a trial run.

Prisma Volumes and Where the Same Cap Range Also Fits

The Prisma pack is common in the 250 ml and 330 ml sizes, and larger sizes exist too. The board below shows the carton formats and volumes that appear across our carton cap pages, so you can see where your pack sits.

Prisma

Brik

Gemina

Base 100B

Volumes differ slightly between product pages, because each cap series is developed for a different drink. Treat the board as a guide, not a guarantee. Final fit always depends on the carton spout and neck finish.

Which Carton Cap Suits Which Drink?

Once the fit is clear, the next question is what goes inside the pack. Juice, milk, cola and sports drinks all ask different things from a cap, which is why we build the range by drink type. Here are four examples, each a food-grade plastic screw or pour cap, with the Prisma volumes listed on its product page.

Juice Carton Caps

Juice Carton Caps

An easy-open screw cap in food-grade PP with stable sealing, for juice, NFC juice, mixed juice, plant-based drinks and children's nutrition drinks.

Prisma 330 to 1000 ml
Dairy Carton Caps

Dairy Carton Caps

Built for pasteurized and UHT aseptic filling, with stable sealing to limit leakage and flavor transfer. Standard screw, large-flow pour and wide-opening versions are available.

Prisma 250, 330, 1000 ml
CSD Carton Caps

CSD Carton Caps

A reinforced structure for carbonated drinks, with stronger walls, a more elastic sealing lip and firmer thread engagement. Pressure resistance is confirmed by lab and filling-line testing.

Prisma 330 to 500 ml

Caps for tea, RTD coffee, sauces and general food-grade use sit in the same range, and you can browse all of them on our aseptic carton caps page.

Sealing and Opening Choices That Change How a Cap Performs

Two caps with the same thread can still seal and pour very differently. The structure inside the cap and the shape of the opening are the choices that matter most, and they are set from your product drawing.

Structure options are confirmed against product drawings, and not every option applies to every cap series.
Structure What it does Consider it when
Threaded screw fit with sealing lip Closes the pack and seals against the spout This is the base design across our carton caps
Inner liner Adds a sealing layer inside the cap Oxygen-sensitive drinks such as coffee and tea
Plug core A core that sits in the spout opening to support the seal Your line or product calls for it, confirmed by drawing
Tamper-evident tear ring A ring that breaks on first opening You want shoppers to see the pack is unopened
Large-flow pour opening A wider pour path than a standard twist-open cap Thick or chunky products such as milk coffee, sauce and soup

Opening torque is the last piece. A cap that is too tight frustrates shoppers, and one that is too loose invites leaks, so the target torque is set to your requirement and checked on samples.

How We Confirm the Fit, from Drawing to Sample

Fit is confirmed in steps, and each step is cheaper to fix than the next. This is how a typical Prisma carton cap project runs with us.

1

Send the spout drawing or a carton sample

Include the carton format and volume, and the drink you are filling. If you have no drawing, a sample pack is enough for us to work from.

2

Receive a quotation

We reply with a quotation within 24 hours of receiving the model, carton format and volume.

3

Approve the 3D model and sample

3D modeling and sample verification follow within 72 hours of the proposal being confirmed.

4

Test on your filling process

Check the cap against your sterilization media, such as H2O2, and your line speed. These have to be confirmed in advance, not discovered on the line.

5

Run a small trial order

Samples and small-batch trial orders are available, so you can test before you commit to a full run.

6

Move to mass production

Production goes ahead with inspection through the process and a full inspection of finished goods before shipment.

What to Check Before You Order Prisma Carton Caps

A cap order is easy to get wrong when the carton details are assumed instead of measured. Work through this list with your supplier, and with us, before you approve tooling.

  1. The spout, not just the format name. Confirm the cap against the carton spout drawing or a real sample pack.
  2. The four neck measurements. Outer diameter, inner diameter, thread profile and cap height, all checked before mass production.
  3. Your filling process. Confirm sterilization media, filling temperature and line speed with the supplier in advance.
  4. The right sealing structure for the drink. Carbonated, oxygen-sensitive and thick products each need something different.
  5. Opening torque. Agree a target torque and check it on samples.
  6. Color, logo and order size together. Your choice of Pantone color and logo method affects the mold, and with it the minimum order.

Send us your spout drawing or a sample pack

Tell us the carton format, the volume and the drink. We will confirm the fit and quote within 24 hours of receiving the details. Colors can be matched to Pantone, logos can be embossed, in-mold, pad printed or surface printed, and caps can be packed in bulk, on trays or in cartons.

Frequently Asked Questions About Prisma Carton Caps

What cap fits a Prisma carton?

A threaded screw cap matched to the carton spout. Our carton caps come in 23 mm and 27 mm opening families, with other sizes developed to your drawing or sample. The exact fit is confirmed against your spout before production.

Do I need a drawing to get a quote?

A spout drawing is the best starting point, but a carton sample also works. Send either one along with the format, volume and drink type.

Can the same cap fit Gemina or Brik cartons?

Some cap series list Prisma, Brik, Slim, Gemina and Base 100B together, but each format has its own spout details. Confirm the fit for every format you fill, instead of assuming one cap works across all of them.

Are the caps made of PP or PE?

They are food-grade plastic. Most series use food-grade PP, and the general-purpose range is offered in PP or PE. The choice depends on sealing requirements, filling temperature and your line.

Yes. Pantone colors are supported, and logos can be embossed, in-mold, pad printed or surface printed, depending on minimum order and mold design.

What decides the minimum order?

Color, logo, mold and packing requirements. We confirm it with your quotation. If you want to test first, samples and small-batch trial orders are available.

How fast do I get a quote and a sample?

We reply with a quotation within 24 hours of receiving your model, carton format and volume. 3D modeling and sample verification follow within 72 hours of the proposal being confirmed.
